Slow Festival History - 2011

With a lot of work done during the course of the following year by Amanda to get local businesses, venues and establishments involved to host or organise suggested events, the 2011 Festival grew to include 31 events!

Working with a group of 3 other volunteers, the Festival was once again a great success. The marketing was boosted with a small amount of 'support marketing funding' from Knysna Tourism (R30k) and it was estimated that we achieved a media value of R800k for our town, our Festival!

Seven charities were supported; Sedgefield Primary School, KAWS Smutsville spayathon, Sedgefield Christian Youth Church, Sedgefield Mobile Meals, Marilyn Tony to compete in the Nedbank Nationals for Disabled Athletes, CANSA and the Du Toit family for the medical fees for their 3 year old daughter's- Dominique- tumour operation.
